I lost 28lbs in 30 days. Here is my story!

I decided to write this blog first as a journal for my personal use, but then decided to post it publicly. If my journey and story helps just one person it will be gratifying. Before I tell you about my success of losing 28lbs in 30 days, I think it is important to first know a little bit about me and my life.
My name is Samantha Stanton and this is my story. I live in a small town just outside of Ohio. I am happily married and have to children, Nolan, who is 5, and Barry, who is 3. I work at hospital which is just a few minutes from our house. My daily routine resembles most working mothers. I get up at 7am I make breakfast for my husband and kids. Then I take my kids to school, head to the office, and after school is over I pick my kids up. On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday after school Nolan had soccer practice. On Tuesday and Thursday I take him to Hockey. The same goes for Barry, but he has swimming lessons, and gym. Not to bore you with any more mommy details, my life is really about my family and less about me.
My story is not about what a busy mother I am, or in any way am I trying to use my busyness as an excuse, but it is the major reason I never really to aim at losing weight.
After giving birth to Nolan, who is now 5 years old, I kept on most of the baby weight. Of all the weight I gained in the process of getting pregnant I was able to only shed off 18 pounds. A year and a half later I had my 2nd son, Barry, and as you can guess I added on more pounds. Adding up all the excess weight over the years, I can approximate that I was about 40Lbs over weight. Getting back to my busy schedule and the fact that my husband loves me for me and never mentioned anything ever about my weight gain obviously the last thing on my mind was weight loss or even weight control.
My life really took a turning point a few months ago when my husband and I decided to throw thanksgiving at our house. We thought it would be fun to invite some of our friends who we haven’t seen in years. I was so excited I went in my closet to see what I would wear and then it just hit me. It was like time stood still and a brick fell on my head. My weight for the first time in my life became center stage. I was embarrassed and ashamed of how I let myself go. I decided at that point that I will not sit back and not care. I was going to make a big change in my life.
This is my story of how I lost 28lbs in 30 days. Here are pictures of me before, during, and after. The last picture was taken just a week before thanksgiving.



My story really begins one day watching Oprah which I Tivo everyday. On this specific episode Oprah had on Dr. Oz. They were discussing weight loss and had 5 different women from various walks of life on. They showed videos of before and after of women just like me with busy schedules, and no real time for themselves. All the women had the same issue basically; they focused on family, work, and not themselves. All these women were given a supplement. Nothing in their life changed other than taking this supplement. Dr. Oz followed all 5 women around for one month. The results in the after videos were amazing. Each woman lost 10 to 18lbs taking just the one supplement.
Coincidently on the same day I was watching my other favorite show The Rachael Ray show. Rachael was talking about supplements and told the audience that not only was she on it but three of her friends was on it too.
